Yıldırım Çakmakçı

Yıldırım Çakmakçı explores the emotional states of everyday life through distinctive characters he develops in his paintings. Working within a figurative language, his compositions open up a field of tension between individual experience and shared emotional conditions.

Born in Istanbul in 1989, the artist graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts,

Department of Graphic Design. Having worked in advertising agencies for over fifteen years, this experience informs his practice as a sense of visual construction and narrative economy.

Çakmakçı’s practice focuses on human relationships and inner states, bringing to the surface the often-unseen emotional currents of contemporary life. The artist is based in Istanbul and continues to develop their practice there.
