Contemporary Istanbul 2025: 20th Edition

Galeri 77 is presenting art lovers with a comprehensive selection of 38 works by 30 artists it represents from both Turkey and abroad at the 20th edition of Contemporary Istanbul. The works, ranging from Expressionism to Surrealism, from Abstract Art to contemporary figurative interpretations, and various forms of Realism, bring together the gallery’s artistic vision and the technical depth of its artists with the intellectual richness of contemporary art. For the first time this year, Belgian artist Artur Eranosian will be featured at Galeri 77’s booth. Deeply inspired by masters such as Piet Mondrian, Barnett Newman, and Kazimir Malevich, Eranosian creates minimalist works through meticulous layering and vibrant color compositions.

 

Turkey’s international contemporary art fair, Contemporary Istanbul, will take place in the historic setting of Tersane Istanbul from September 25–28, 2025, with a preview on September 24. On the occasion of its 20th edition, Contemporary Istanbul introduces Focus America, a special program that will bring together leading contemporary art galleries and art professionals from the United States with art enthusiasts. Representatives from the Brooklyn Museum, the Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, along with prominent collectors from New York, Seattle, and California, will be present in Istanbul. In addition, institutions from Canada, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Biennial of Art, National Gallery of Canada, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and MAC Montreal will also join the program through collaborations.

 

This year’s roster of Galeri 77 includes Armen Agop, Nevres Akın, Mutlu Aksu, Karen Arakel, Narek Arzumanyan, Roman Babakhanian, Gurgen Babayan, Erhan Coral, Hakan Çınar, Vahram Davtian, Bayram Demir, Artur Eranosian, Gago, Sedat Girgin, Sam Grigorian, Edgar Grigoryan, Hakan Gürbüzer, Vav Hakobyan, Sarkis Hamalbashian, Mehmet Resul Kaçar, Mesut Karakış, İlker Kayalı, David Martirosyan, Taron Marukyan, Daron Mouradian, Sergey Narazyan, Ani Qananyan, Armén Rotch, Kirkor Sahakoğlu, and Evgenia Saré.

 

The gallery’s selection for the fair not only highlights the diverse styles and technical variety of its represented artists but also reflects Galeri 77’s strong identity and international vision as one of Istanbul’s leading contemporary art galleries.
